Ellen is a wonderful and generous friend of mine who is a huge foodie
like me!

Although for so long we've lived so far from each other (her
being in SoCal), we've gone on lots of food adventures! A recent one was
a trip to New York just to eat!

I thought it would be appropriate to paint her and her love for food for her birthday. It was quite torturous painting this, but it was fun!

This piece is a 4" x 6" watercolor on watercolor paper.

For
Star Wars Day (May 4th), I decided to work on one of the awkward booby
painting requests from my charity for Breast Cancer (I owe lots of booby
paintings!: Booby Fett!

This one is slightly bigger than my typical booby painting (2" x 3") and I had a lot of fun making it a little more elaborate than other booby paintings. This is just one of the few Star Wars- themed boobies that was requested :)

This was done using watercolor, including the outlines on watercolor paper.

I knew I wanted to paint this ever since I learned about the Ahsoka's story arc months ago. For those who seen Star Wars: The Clone Wars over the few seasons, we learn that Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee are good friends. They've had a few adventures together, and work greatly as a team. So for my silly art piece I wanted to create a BFF feel, where they are taking silly photos at a photobooth, portraying their friendship.

I photoshopped my hand to look like its Ahsoka. The "photo" is a watercolor painting.

However, after the announcement of Star Wars: The Clone Wars ceasing production (after season 5), I no longer wanted this piece to be a silly/funny one, but to be a tribute to the show, and for everyone who has worked on it over the years. Learning that most of us will be laid off meant we would be leaving our family here at Lucasfilm Animation, was a heartbreak for us all.

I felt the timing was appropriate, and decided to tie in the last story arc about Ahsoka of season 5 to what was going on at Lucasfilm Animation.

*****WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!!!!*****

At the very last episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, we learn that Barriss Offee betrayed the Jedi order after framing Ahsoka for the bombing, which had her kicked out of the Jedi Order. When the truth is revealed (thanks to Anakin), and the real bad guy is caught, the Jedi Order asks her to come back. However, said goodbye to her master, and walks off into the sunset.

I created this piece reminding myself and my fellow co-workers to be happy for the time , opportunity and memories at Lucasfilm Animation, and to not be sad that it ended. Just as Ahsoka and Barriss had their friendship, I'm sure they had fond memories before the betrayal.

I am grateful to have worked with such amazing and talented people at Lucasfilm Animation for the past 5 seasons. I will miss my family there, and will hold positive memories in my heart as I move forward in my life.
Sure one is slightly bigger than the other...and they look kind of uneven where they are placed...but their my boobies and I like them!
February is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. As a tribute I figured I'd draw some boobies...3 blue-footed boobies to be exact! I plan on putting this up for auction to friends, and all proceeds will go towards Breast Cancer. So far this is my 2nd watercolor painting, and it was more difficult, but hey, it means I need more practice! :)

I plan on drawing a series of different kinds of boobies...stay tuned!

I did a bit of it early in college and just stopped. So the other day I figured I try it again (about 10 years later)...and even though I feel so rusty, I had a lot of fun! Thought I do my first try on a tiny Ahsoka Tano drawing :)

Drawing for someone or something, as a gift or event gives me a deadline to get it done. I had this idea and thought it would make a decent gift for my super-duper talented boyfriend Le Tang for Valentine's Day. This time I had watercolor paper to draw on, but no watercolor paints to use! :P So I used markers yet again!

That Darn Tu-Anh!http://www.blogger.com/profile/17905099364509938597noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3701133404732100955.post-8933047288066708152012-02-02T19:55:00.000-08:002012-02-02T20:31:21.345-08:00Gosh Darn BunsLast week some co-workers organized the 4th Lucasfilm Animation Benefit Auction. I can't wait for this Saturday to come so I can burn it to the screen and start printing on paper! Yeap, its the same popsicle from my business card. What's hard was transforming the image to strictly just black and white...yet my "popsicle" is actually a chocolate-dipped ice-cream bar...on a stick...yum.

I'm not too happy with this image...but I'm sure later on in time I can make it look better. I honestly have no idea how it works or the process...but now I do! Right now it seems like a long process, but I'm sure once I do more of this again and again it wont seem too bad. My book doesn't give me justice! Why? Mostly because it's not my most recent work. So I decided to fake the funk and slap together images from here and there into backgrounds to a few of them to try and give them this "fresh" and "new" look. Since I drew a monkey for her last year, I thought of drawing another animal: her boston terrier, Pancha. So I sketched this out late last night on Flash and she loved it! Natalie is actually a very talented girl who I know one day will become a great artist (trust me I've seen her current sketches). That Darn Tu-Anh!http://www.blogger.com/profile/17905099364509938597noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3701133404732100955.post-70394642123228927722008-04-17T23:15:00.000-07:002008-05-06T00:47:53.225-07:00PETAI sure hate animal cruelty, but darnit I love to eat them. I've made attempts on cutting back on red meat for health purposes, but its really hard to not eat fish and poultry. Sorry PETA, I won't buy fur, but I need my milk to go with my cookies!

These were my entries I did on flash for the PETA2 t-shirt contest. However, there is a limit to one entry per person, and I think I got disqualified when they figured out I tried to enter all of them using different emails and names, heh. Oh well, it got me to draw! So here I am dag-nammit! I'm no writer so I'll keep things short, and do expect grammatical errors! I don't draw as much as I use to anymore, but hopefully this blogger thingymajig will help motivate me to. Jeebus, I never thought I'd become a blogger...ugh...That Darn Tu-Anh!http://www.blogger.com/profile/17905099364509938597noreply@blogger.com4
